I'm sure this would be possible. I'm not too familiar with that plugin, but using a custom field you could store anything. The way I would set it up would be to use a custom field (email). Then, hardcode a form into the template, pulling that custom field in the 'to' field of mail function in php. Does this make sense?

Matt

I'm really loving everything you've done here in your 3 part tutorial.

One of the things I'm currently struggling with is to develop an enquiry form that will enable a user to send an enquiry (email) directly to the listing owner (each post ID will be associated with a unique listing owner). A good example of what I'm referring to has been done here:

http://geofeat.com/directory/house_home/house_cleaning/all_cleaners/40654/

Do you think it would be possible to store an email address as a custom field and then use this email address in conjunction with a plugin such as Lester Chan's WP-Email 2.11? Therefore, instead of permitting a user to enter a friends email address, I'd be grabbing the email address stored in the custom field.

Would appreciate your thoughts....

Cheers, Joe

Hi Matt - I've been interested in adding some custom-user functionality - Like the ability for viewers to save posts, sign up for newsletters, create a custom profile with specific needs, contact the agent while logged in in a way that automatically provides their profile information, etc.

The first peace of implementing this of course would be custom-user-meta-data, the second would be probably a "save-post" function.

Have you come across any hacks and/or plugins that would accomplish some of this functionality? Obviously all of this could be accomplished through either multiple third-party apps, like a Constant Contact newsletter sign up, a social-networking-user plugin, etc., but there must be a way to keep things cleaner and/or have it all go under one universal login for a user.

Let me know your thoughts - I'd be happy to share my progress.

Also - What is your progress with creating an "all-in-one" plugin for this WP-Real-Estate application?

Best,

Will

Thought I'd drop a line to share my progress - http://www.mainerealtorweb.com is now updated with a new and much cleaner theme. It will soon be on its way to an agent here in the Portland area.

So a week ago I came across this nifty Zurnet script for Real Estate agents and I thought to myself, "Wow what I great idea - How far can I take this?"

So this is what I've put together. I would be very interested in possibly extending this into some sort of hook into MLS/IDX listings, but other than that, my module is fairly complete unless anyone has any ideas?

You can find it at http://www.mainerealtorweb.com.

Matt I've got you bookmarked for daily return, thanks for responding.

I did send Jared an email and got a response from him and he sent me to the demo and quite honestly it looks pretty nice but tables have to be manually edited in their first release which concerns me.

I was surprised at how many real estate related sites he has developed or designed. He basically said he doesn't care who uses the code since its going to be all open source and free and that he did the plugin at his expense to generate traffic for other services they offer. So I have mixed emotions on that one.

Hey I have been looking all over the web for this kind of thing for my real estate site and can't find anyone who has pulled it off. on the site Joe mentions above that guy Jared updated his blog and sent me to a demo but its not yet complete. Looks like he is trying to make wordpress work like a full blown listing editor because he told me they require the wordpress loop to get things to work correctly.

I'm open for any ideas or direction on this because I can't find anyone who actually uses wordpress to display listings. Even the links on Jared's site suggest its being published now in free blog resources but I'm baffled.

Thanks
Mark Panavia
